About this app

Hear a Qur'an recitation and want to know what it is? Hold up your phone. RecitID names the surah and ayah, often within seconds, then tells you who is reciting. Think of it as Shazam for the Qur'an.

RecitID is a Quran identifier and a complete Qur'an companion: identify any recitation and its reciter, read the meaning with tafsir, follow a khutbah live in your language, read the full Mushaf, listen to renowned reciters and scan Arabic text.

IDENTIFY THE AYAH AND THE RECITER

Tap Detect near a recitation — in the masjid, at Taraweeh or Jumu'ah, or from a video, radio or lecture. The result opens as soon as the verse is found:

• Surah and ayah, with the Arabic and translation
• Tafsir al-Jalalayn for the identified ayah
• The reciter, from 250+ recognised voices, filled in a moment later

Turn on Auto Detect to keep identifying each verse as the recitation continues, even while you use other apps.

PLAY THE FULL RECITATION

Once the reciter is identified, play the whole surah in their own voice and follow along ayah by ayah with the translation. If a reciter hasn't recorded a surah, RecitID tells you and plays Mishary Rashid Alafasy instead.

LIVE KHUTBAH TRANSLATION

Follow sermons and lectures as they happen. Arabic appears on screen in about a second, and the translation follows sentence by sentence. Qur'an verses are recognised with their surah and ayah.

it didn't detect and recognise the very famous yasser al dosari 1425 surah muminun after a whole minute, and then apparently the limit was reached, but this is such a cool concept, hope to see this problem fixed maybe add a feature that tells you who YOUR recitation sounds like, and your pitch and scale

Don't bother with it, it glitches and doesn't work. Google AI does a better job.
