About this app

RedTrace is an on-device tool for phone numbers you care about. Nothing is uploaded. This version has no Internet permission.

WATCHLIST Keep numbers you want to look for. Add them by typing, by scanning a QR with the camera (Google Play services; RedTrace does not declare Camera permission), or by picking a photo of a QR (system Photo Picker; no Photos permission). Share your watchlist as one or more QR codes so others can import the same numbers. Swipe a number left to remove it.

SCAN Tap Scan now. After an in-app disclosure, Android asks for Contacts permission. RedTrace looks up only your watchlist numbers. It does not copy your address book. You also get a count of saved numbers by country (valid length only). Numbers that cannot be assigned a country appear as Unresolved, with the reason. Results stay on this phone. You can refuse Contacts permission and still manage the lists; scans will not run.

WHITELIST Keep a private name and notes for numbers you do not want in Contacts. Add by typing, picking one or more from Contacts, or importing a RedTrace whitelist QR. Share the list as QR codes. Tap the phone icon to dial a number without saving it to Contacts.

Optionally copy selected people into the phone book (To Contacts). You choose who to add, and whether to include the private name and notes. Phone numbers are always included. Notes stay in RedTrace unless you include them. People whose numbers are already in Contacts are skipped. Write permission is requested only if you use this action.

CALL SCREENING (optional) Make RedTrace the call screening app to reject incoming calls that match your watchlist, or that come from countries you select. Emergency numbers are never blocked. Whitelist matches are not blocked by country; a notification can show your private notes. Screened calls appear in Incoming log (time, number, and what RedTrace did). This does not read the Phone app call log.

ALSO ON THIS PHONE Daily scan, audit trail, and watchlist history stay in the app. Device backup of app data is turned off. No account, ads, analytics, or crash SDKs.

You can turn call blocking off, revoke Contacts permission, or uninstall to remove local data.

What’s new

Share the watchlist as QR. Call whitelist numbers without saving them to Contacts. Copy selected whitelist people to the phone book (you choose name and notes). Search both lists. Add several contacts at once. Incoming whitelist calls can show a clearer identification notification.
On-device watchlist, whitelist, and call screening. Nothing is uploaded.
