About this app

"UniReg" is a cash register app developed for financial education and mock store activities in special needs schools and elementary schools.

Based on the universal design philosophy of "ease of use for everyone," it comes standard with intuitive touch controls, hiragana notation, and a voice readout function.

More than just simple calculation practice, it fosters real-life social skills through authentic "store play" activities, from registering items to paying, giving change, and tallying sales.

[Key Features]
1. "Universal Design" that's Easy for Everyone
Even children who have difficulty using existing cash register apps can operate "UniReg" independently.

- [Hiragana Mode] With the push of a button, all kanji characters in the app can be switched to hiragana (with some katakana).
- [Voice Readout] Voice guidance is provided for product names, total amounts, change amounts, and more, supporting operation without relying solely on visual information.
- [Visual UI] Products can be selected by photo. Even those who cannot read text can intuitively input information by looking at the image.

2. Developing a Realistic "Financial Sense"
We focused on the experience of handling money as a physical object, rather than a list of numbers.

・[Money Tray Operation] Use your finger to insert and remove images of coins, from 1 yen to 10,000 yen bills, into the tray to make payments.

・[Currency Exchange] Tapping coins or bills on the change screen displays an animation of them breaking down, such as "100 yen coin → two 50 yen coins." This visually teaches children about the composition of money and the concept of equivalent exchange.

・[Realistic Sound Effects] Realistic sound effects, such as the sounds of a cash register ringing up and a drawer opening and closing, help children feel like they're a store clerk.

3. "Practical Features" for Schools
Based on teacher feedback, we've included features that can be immediately used in lessons and events.

・[Producer Management] Register and tally products by producer (category), such as "Cookies by Mr./Ms. X" or "Vegetables from Class X, Year X."

・[Sales Report] Automatically calculates "who sold which product," "how many," and "how much." Useful for post-activity review and accounting practice.

・[Delivery Confirmation Mode] Allows collaborative learning between the person taking the order and the person handing over the product. It can also be used as an order entry system to manage "undelivered/delivered" status.

・[Data Storage] Product settings and sales data are automatically saved to the device. You can continue from where you left off even after closing the app. Settings can also be exported and imported, making it easy to share settings across multiple devices.

4. Safe, Secure, and Easy
・[Privacy Consideration] Students' personal information and sales data are not sent to external servers. Everything is completed locally, ensuring security.
・[Ad Filtering] Designed to prevent inappropriate ads that disrupt learning.

[Educational Benefits/Use Cases]

Even students who struggle with abstract "calculation" can understand the concept of numbers through concrete "operations."

Combining this with vocal practice, such as "Welcome" and "Thank you," can also help improve communication skills and social skills.
The experience of seeing the products they make registered in the cash register and actually selling them greatly boosts children's self-esteem.

The "pretend shopping" unit offers a hands-on learning experience that differs from math drills.
Students can practice carryover and borrowing calculations and denomination combinations in a fun, playful way.

While introducing a real cash register is costly and difficult to operate, UniREGI turns their existing tablet into a highly functional cash register.
Students register products, sell them, and tally their sales. This entire process itself provides a deep learning opportunity for career education.

[Developer's Vision]
"I could use the cash register!" "The calculation was right!"
We believe that these small successes will build children's confidence to carve out their own futures.
Whether it's in a corner of the classroom or at a school-wide event, UniREGI will help you create an environment filled with children's smiles and the joy of hearing "I did it!"

Why not open a wonderful shop in your class?
This is a cash register learning app that helps children pretend to shop and learn simple sales techniques.
