Reset & Recover is the companion app for people enrolled on the Reset and Recover programme - a peer-led, lived-experience addiction recovery programme run by Reset and Recover Halton CIC.
This app is provided directly to programme members by the team. It is not a self-service or general-audience app; you receive access when you join the programme.
BUILT AROUND THE OPPONENT
The programme and app are grounded in The Opponent framework: the idea that addiction is sustained by an internal voice that speaks in your own words at predictable moments. The app turns the framework's five-step pattern interrupt into everyday tools:
- Name It - recognise the Opponent when it shows up
- Step Back - create space before you react
- Damage Report - see the real cost of acting out
- Play It Out - follow the urge to its true conclusion
- Reset and Recover - choose the next right action
WHAT MEMBERS CAN DO
- Daily check-ins to track how you are doing
- Mood logging to spot patterns over time
- Guided intervention tools for high-risk moments (HALT: hungry, angry, lonely, tired)
- A simple, private space that works alongside your group meetings, recovery walks and peer support
FOR THE TEAM
Staff and admins use the app to support members between sessions - managing groups and attendance, reviewing history and guiding each person through the stages of recovery.
PRIVACY AND SUPPORT
Your check-ins and reflections are personal. The app uses secure sign-in and stores your data privately.
Reset and Recover is an addiction recovery service. It is not a crisis or emergency service. If you need urgent help, contact your GP, call 999, or call the Samaritans free on 116 123.
