I've used RetroArch on a number of platforms and it works very well. My only gripe is the touch frontend needs work e.g. Android back button doesn't work and scrolling is slow. This can be overcome by enabling the controller overlay in menus and changing the menu driver to rgui or xmb but again I wish you could force xmb to start in landscape.
I love it! Some say it's hard to use but it's actually very simple once you get the hang of it. Has tons of features and easily the best emulator (or should I say emulators) out there.
If you have problems loading new cores after downloading them just go into the settings on your phone for the app or get a file manager app and completely clear the data on the app. Deleting the app itself won't fix the problem you just have to clear the data in the app
Crashes after a few seconds of SNES gameplay now. Literally unusable on OnePlus 3 running Android 7.1.1 Uninstalled twice, phone on and off multiple times, no go. Big, big fail here, guys.
