SOS Alert is an emergency app which helps you out whenever your safety is at risk by reaching out to your emergency contacts and providing them with your current location.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. Whenever you are in an emergency, you need to press the SOS Widget or the SOS button in the app
2. As soon as you press the button/widget, a countdown of 3 seconds starts immediately (you can cancel the SOS Alert if you want to, before the countdown ends)
3. When the countdown ends, the app fetches your location from the GPS on your device and sends (through SMS) your location along with your SOS Message (which is pre-saved on your device) to the emergency contacts that you have registered in the app
4. The registered emergency contacts receive your SOS Message and a link of your current location as an SMS from your mobile number

Ratings and reviews

Its simply and works perfectly. Tested it with my wife. Sent sms and my location quickly. Only suggestion i would make is to add a widget feature that you could add to a home screen on your phone and give the widget maybe an adjustable time frame to cancel from 3-6 seconds. Or make it a quick double tap to help prevent accidental sos being sent. Just some ideas and if you add then i guess things could be updated as problems arise maybe with accidental hit or whatever. Other than that, love it.

I've looked at a lot of these emergency location apps and I think that this one is by far, the best. Most of the others have too many "features" and they just clutter up the app and make them too complicated. This one is perfect. Just a simple app with a simple interface just waiting to be quickly used in the event of an emergency. GREAT APP!

I butt dialed my parents with the SOS in the middle of the night...wasnt the "test experience" I planned for them! Whoops. Good news, it worked with accurate location. What I DID NOT like is it showed up in my standard text string on my phone as a sent text message (x3), so if I was in a bad situation, sent the SOS, then had my phone taken, there's evidence and proof that I sent help. Seems like it should be much more discrete and incognito.
