Ridenet is a rider app for finding, unlocking, and renting electric bikes from operators in our network. Use the app to discover available bikes nearby, manage your rides, track your spending, and keep your account in one place.
How it works:
Open the app to see a live map of bikes from operators near you. Tap a bike to view its current rate, battery level, lock status, and the parking area where it can be returned. Scan the QR code on the bike or start the ride from the detail sheet, then ride. Charges are calculated based on the operator's published pricing.
Two ways to book
- On-demand rides: walk up to any available bike, unlock, ride, and pay for the time you use, up to the operator's per-day cap when one is set
- Pre-booked rentals: reserve bikes for a half-day, full-day, or multi-day window, with the option to pay at booking or save a card and pay at unlock
- Add additional riders to a group rental and invite them to unlock by email
Maps and discovery
- Live availability across every fleet you have access to, with private fleets clearly marked
- Fleet boundaries and parking-area outlines so you can see where rides start and end
- Per-fleet hours of operation, with a "next open" hint when a fleet is closed
- Filter by bike type and switch between fleets without leaving the map
Ride controls
- Pause your ride when you take a break and the meter pauses with you
- End-of-ride feedback to rate the bike and flag anything you noticed
- Active-ride card and a persistent OS notification while you ride, so the app doesn't have to stay open
- Share your live ride location with another rider if you're riding together
- Bluetooth unlock as a backup for moments when cell coverage is weak
Payments and promotions
- Save a card, use Apple Pay, or use Google Pay; payments are processed by Stripe
- Wallet ledger for promo credits, refunds, and operator goodwill, with every charge and credit itemized
- Save coupon codes to your Promotions tab; eligible codes apply automatically at checkout
- Coupon stacking when an operator allows it
- Receipts with the applicable tax label and rate per operator, available in-app and by email
Maintenance and reporting
- Report a problem with a bike from the detail sheet and we'll forward it to the operator
- Maintenance freshness indicator shows how recently the bike was last serviced
- Lock battery level shown when the bike reports it
Account and onboarding
- One-time ID verification with on-device photo capture, accepted at participating fleets
- Sign the terms and rental agreement directly in the app, with a built-in safety walkthrough
- Editable profile, saved contact info, and per-category push-notification preferences
- Ride history with itemized cost breakdowns, including any wallet or coupon amounts applied
One app, many operators
Ridenet powers operators such as Tobermory eBikes and Westlake eBikes. The same account works across every operator in our network, so wherever you ride, your saved cards, coupons, ID verification, and ride history come with you.
