Love the tools, have no use for this app. Too many permissions. Just one more way to get your data exposed to a hack. I'll pass. I was just curious about the bluetooth to the batteries. I've had almost every 18v Ridgid tool since 2004. Never once have I needed to pair one. A blue light came on one today so I was trying to figure out why. Too many hoops to jump through with the app though.

Seems like this app is used to spy on us. Why else would it require location information even when the app is not in use? - Thanks to Rigid's response, I have changed from 1 to 5 stars. No chance I will miss place a $2,000 and my most beloved tool. I've done 256 crimps in my first job, and not a single leak. Unbelievable!

Dear Steve, thank you for your review. The reason for using the location in the background is to track your nearby tools and provide information on where the tools were last seen. You can disable this permission at any time from the Settings screen of the app using the gear icon in the top right corner. Best regards, RIDGID Software Solutions Team.

This app connected to my tool fine and told me that I have 99 cycles on it but the tool has a solid yellow lock light. Is the somewhere on the app that will read the code and tell me why the tool quit working? I would immediately give you 5 stars for that.
