About this app

A2 Ready helps you prepare for the A2 English test many people need for a UK family or partner visa extension. A2 Ready is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Trinity College London, IELTS, UK Visas and Immigration, or any government body or official examining organisation. One approved A2 test is the Trinity GESE Grade 3 exam: one conversation of up to 7 minutes with an examiner, testing speaking and listening only. There is no reading and no writing.

WHY THIS APP
A2 is not just a longer version of A1. You have to hold your side of the conversation, which means asking the examiner simple questions as well as answering. The answers that sound strongest also add a reason with "because", or one more detail, instead of stopping after three words. The whole app is built around that.

ABOUT THE AUDIO
Listening audio in this app is AI-generated. All 344 recordings, the 320 conversation lines and the 24 model answers, are computer-generated British English (text-to-speech), not recordings of real examiners or candidates.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
You can record your answer to any speaking task and compare it with the model answer. The recording stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded, there is no speech recognition and there is no account.
