About this app
Welcome to Snug Bug, a privacy-first smart baby sleep assistant. Designed to act as an intelligent, local AI baby monitor, Snug Bug runs entirely on your device to help your infant (0-12 months) sleep through the night peacefully and privately.
• Instant Baby Cry Detection: Advanced, on-device technology listens specifically for a baby cry and responds accordingly.
• Automated Soothing Sounds: When crying is detected and baby distress reaches certain thresholds, the app automatically plays white noise, gentle distracting melodies, and/or specific frequencies that are curated based on pediatric audio research to soothe your little one back to sleep.
• 100% Local Privacy: No audio or personal data ever leaves your device. Snug Bug operates completely offline without cloud servers.
• Designed for Babies By design, Snug Bug only responds to baby cries (0-12 months). It does not respond to toddlers' speech-like cries.
The core baby room monitor, parent remote, automated baby cry detection, and all soothing sounds are completely free to use. In the future, new users may be required to pay for certain features (e.g. parent remote).
We are a family of three who love playing outside in the forests and coastlines of our home. My partner is a professional early childhood educator and I am a professional software developer, so we make an excellent team to bring ideas for families to life.
In the first year I would play music to help distract and soothe our baby back to sleep during night wakings. As I walked over with my phone to sit there by the crib, fiddling around in the dark to play a song and waiting, half asleep, to fade the music back to white noise, my software developer mind imagined there must be a better way... so here we are. I'm building this for you, as a tool I wish I had.
Baby sleep is not a linear journey and can at times be extremely challenging. Having a variety of tools to help you as sleep-deprived parents can mean getting more precious hours of rest each night. This app is designed for you. To that end, it is built entirely offline (no tracking or sharing of your data) with strictly local processing. Wi-Fi is only used to sync to the (optional) parent remote.
