About this app

The Rivetz App enables you to use hardware-level security to protect the secrets, keys, and other private data your other apps need to use. The app is the gateway to the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), a secure hardware enclave that is hidden from the Android OS, making it immune to malware that can infect your handset. The TEE is already built into billions of devices on the market.

With the Rivetz App, you can ‘rivet’ your app to ensure your secrets stay safe in the hardware. In the case of a cryptocurrency wallet, your private address key is stored there; in the case of 2FA, your private encryption key is stored there, and your time-based codes are generated in that separate processing environment.

While people are pretty good at protecting their valuable objects like their phones, they have proven to be poor at protecting their secrets or coming up with decent passwords. By riveting your secrets to your device hardware, you’re making them much harder to steal than phishing you to get your password.

The whole story behind this app is fishy. Even more so when you install it and it is stuck on the splash page. Behaves like a malware app would, make promises and deliver nothing.

According to the Google Play console, you are on a OnePlus, and we are not compatible with OnePlus. We have a compatibility list on the website. Not sure why you consider the story behind the app "fishy" - trusted computing has a long history and our CEO has been one of the principal players in the industry.

It doesn't really do anything visibly to the user - it enables the other app to use the hardware security and will be required for other apps in the future.
