About this app

Notifications arrive and disappear. You swipe one away by reflex, an app clears its own, or twenty pile up while you're busy — and the one you actually needed is gone.

Notify keeps them all. It records every notification your phone receives and makes them searchable, so a verification code from last Tuesday or a delivery update from three weeks ago is still there when you need it.

WHAT YOU GET

• Complete history — every notification captured the moment it arrives, with the app, title, message and time
• Full-text search — find anything by any word in it, across every app at once
• Grouped by app — see which apps notify you most, filter to one, or pause the noisy ones
• Daily activity — a 14-day view of how much your phone is actually asking of you
• Automatic cleanup — anything past your retention window is deleted for you
• Light and dark themes

YOUR NOTIFICATIONS STAY ON YOUR PHONE

Notification content is stored in a private database only this app can read. It is never uploaded, never sold and never shared — not with the developer, not with anyone.

There is no account to create and no server holding a copy. Uninstall Notify and the database goes with it.

You choose how long history is kept: 30, 60, 90 or 180 days. Anything older is deleted automatically, with a sweep every day and again each time you open the app. You can also delete a single notification, everything from one app, or clear the whole history at once.

HOW IT WORKS

Android only lets an app read notifications through a special permission that you switch on yourself in system settings — no app can grant it for itself. Notify asks on first launch and explains exactly what it does. Until you grant it, the app can see nothing at all.

There is no background service and no polling. Android wakes Notify when a notification arrives, it writes one row, and goes back to sleep.

WORTH KNOWING BEFORE YOU INSTALL

• Notifications that arrived before you granted access cannot be recovered. Android keeps no history for apps to read, so Notify starts from the moment you switch it on.
• Ongoing notifications — music players, downloads, navigation, timers — are skipped on purpose. They rewrite themselves every second or two and would bury everything else.
• An identical notification from the same app within 30 seconds is recorded once, so a single message doesn't fill the list with copies.

FREE, WITH ADS

Notify is free and funded by advertising. Ads are requested with no information about your notifications — nothing from your history is used to choose one. A purchase to remove ads is planned for a future update.

What’s new

Notify now tells you what still needs you.

• Morning summary: one notification with what came in overnight. Off by default, at a time you pick.
• Needs you: codes, missed calls and unread messages, shown on the home screen.
• Keep a notification and it stays past your 30-day limit.
• Photos now show with the message.
• Open takes you to the conversation, not just the app.
• Ongoing and progress notifications are no longer saved.
• Fixed: the morning summary could refuse to switch on.
