About this app

Three sacred texts. One conversation.

Abrahamic Reader brings together the Christian Bible, the Hebrew Torah, and the Quran in a single distraction-free reader — and helps you discover the verses that echo across them.

The reader is free. An optional one-time $0.99 unlock adds the Parallels & Divergences explorer and the Study deck.

Read any text in English. Toggle on the original-language verse — Hebrew for the Torah, Arabic for the Quran — and watch them appear side by side with their translation. Tap any verse to reveal curated cross-references: the creation, the first humans, the Garden, the patriarchs, the prophets, the moments shared across traditions.

FREE — EVERYTHING WORKS OFFLINE
• Full King James Bible — all 66 books, 31,102 verses
• Full Torah — 5 books in JPS English with the original Hebrew
• Full Quran — all 114 surahs in Pickthall English with the original Arabic
• No account, no signup, no internet required to read

FREE — CURATED CROSS-REFERENCES
A growing library of hand-picked parallels between the three texts. Tap a verse marked with a link icon to see related passages from the other traditions — with a brief note on what connects them.

FREE — AI PARALLELS (BRING YOUR OWN KEY)
Bring your own Anthropic API key and use Claude to discover additional thematic and linguistic parallels for any verse, on demand. Your key stays on your device. You pay Anthropic directly for what you use — no middleman.

FREE — HIGHLIGHT AND RETURN
Long-press to highlight any verse. The app remembers where you left off and gives you one tap back to your last chapter.

STUDY TOOLS UNLOCK — $0.99 ONE-TIME
• Parallels & Divergences explorer — browse hundreds of curated parallels and divergence points, grouped by theme (Creation, Prophets, Law, and more)
• Study mode — flashcards and recitation grading for any verse or prayer you've bookmarked, with per-item mastery tracking

DESIGNED FOR FOCUSED READING
A warm parchment-on-dark palette that's easy on the eyes day or night. Adjustable text size. No ads, no tracking, no telemetry, no analytics — ever. One optional one-time purchase, no subscriptions.

WHO IT'S FOR
• Interfaith students and scholars
• Comparative-religion classes
• Anyone curious about what these three traditions actually share
• Readers who want one app instead of three

ABOUT THE TRANSLATIONS
• Bible: King James Version (1769) — public domain
• Torah: Jewish Publication Society translation (1917) and the Masoretic Hebrew text, via Sefaria — both public domain
• Quran: Marmaduke Pickthall's English translation (1930) and the Tanzil Arabic text — both public domain

This app does not promote any tradition over another. It is a reading tool that lets the texts speak for themselves.
