About this app

Is your grow light bright enough? Now you'll know instantly.
Point your phone at your grow light and Lux Meter tells you right away if your light level is Too Low, Borderline, Good, or Too High — color coded in red, yellow, and green.
Select from 26 common seedlings including tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, basil, and more. The app automatically adjusts the target light range for whichever plant you choose.
Perfect for seed starting under shop lights, grow lights, or any indoor light setup.

- Real-time lux reading from your phone's light sensor
- 26 seedlings with individual light requirements
- Instant color-coded verdict — no guessing
- Free, no ads, no data collected
- Simple enough for first-time seed starters

HOW IT WORKS
The app uses your phone's built-in light sensor to measure lux — the standard unit of light brightness. It then calculates DLI (Daily Light Integral) — the total light your seedlings receive over a typical 16-hour grow light day, measured in mol/m2/day. DLI is the measurement professional growers use to determine if seedlings are getting enough light. Too little light and seedlings grow tall and weak. Too much and they can stress or burn. Each plant in the app has its own DLI target range based on established horticultural research, so you get a result that's specific to what you're growing — not just a generic number.
