Hi there, here are Nadine & Robin, the two founders of nag reminder - the Essential, Persistent and Most Powerful Productivity App on Android 👋

🏁 The best way to know what nag is all about, is to tell you directly why we developed the app and what problem we tried to solve. If you are interested in the features, just skip this section and scroll down.

PROBLEM:
We forgot things once in a while. Often small things like buying or taking care of something, paying a bill, redeeming a coupon etc. Sometimes also recurring things like disposing of compost, taking pills, doing laundry etc.

What to do then? Just download an app that reminds you, right? Well, we have tested all android todo, productivity and reminder apps ourselves (we have about +100 productivity apps on our phones) and were not satisfied.

There were generally two problems:

1️⃣ Firstly, that these apps only remind you once and then give up. The apps are not intrusive enough. Sometimes a reminder just comes at an inappropriate time and you forget to do this reminder at all. The app should remind me then again until I have actually done it. One or two apps had this capability, but they failed in endurance testing over several weeks so you couldn't rely on the app. So it should be persistently nagging me.

2️⃣ Second, the apps are eiter way too complicated / have multiple usecases or were too simple and very limited in their power. We need an app that is focused on a few functions but does them better than anyone else.

SOLUTION
We have been working with several people since 2019 on a prototype that takes into account the above aspects and gives you a productivity tool at hand so you can be more productive than ever. With nag you will never forget anything!

--

To achieve the benefits described above, nag has the following features:

🔔 Persistent & Effective Reminders
nag uses novel and patented notification system. If it's in nag, you'll never forget it!

🔁 Most Powerful Reminders
From the simple daily & weekly reminders to the complex every-3rd-Monday-of-the-second-month kind of reminders.

⚡ Set & Postpone Reminders in Record Time
Patented workflow & time picker with 12 preset and fully customizable times.

🏝️ Works fully offline
With other apps, notifications start coming irregularly in offline mode, unlike with us. Even if you don't have internet for 3 weeks, reminders will come as scheduled.

A few words from our users:

"I really like that the app pings reminders several times so if I miss the first, it keeps going. Instead of silently sitting in the notification tray" by Snackrat

"I love it! its on my home screen next to my calendar (...) love that the reminders are simultaneously REALLY easy to make short ones, AND able to make detailed ones." by Snackrat

"I absolutely love this app!" by Beast1985

"Awesome! Saved me from multiple alarms! I absolutely LOVE this app. My daughter & I both have ADHD and have such a difficult time remembering small details so were constantly forgetting keys, lunch, homework, meeting notes etc" by Clair

All the best from Switzerland

Nice for quick addition and on-the-fly adjustment of snoozing, but it uses Media volume instead of Alarm or Notification volume. It completely ignores vibrate mode so it's not safe to take in public unless you want to be in full on DND mode which is quite different, and lastly it won't stop bugging me about battery settings even though this version of android doesn't have such a setting anymore.

hey ES, yes thats true. another user wrote that: "Notification sound volume seems to be tied to app volume instead of alarm volume so it'll be muted if I want to use apps quietly or without sound. Edit: Sound issue resolved by changing the notification sound to a proper alarm in Android settings. It is now very loud and unmissably annoying!"

I love the app! It's straightforward and effective, and I was surprised to find nothing else comparable. I have a request: could there be a setting for the app reminders to function more like an alarm? For instance, it could buzz for a minute and auto-snooze for a minute until the task time is adjusted or completed. Alternatively, a simpler implementation could be to reduce the minimum auto-snooze time to smaller increments, such as 5 or 10 seconds as an option. Great work! 👍

hi :) thanks a lot for those kind words :)))! thats a good point, thanks! in general such options are kinda hard to implement because android is very restrictive with that kind of features (battery consuming). but I have just added that to our roadmap. have a gread day, robin

As someone who moved over from iOS, I've been looking for a replacement for the excellent Due app. Nag Reminder is the closest I've found to date. There are a couple of minor bugs that prevent me from rating this five stars. The first is that I can not dismiss the sample reminder meant to show how to postpone. The second is that when choosing a specific day of the month, it will read 31th instead of 31st as it should. It does the same thing with 3rd. It reads 3th. Other than that, it's good.
