Status of Canyons, Caves, Via Ferratas, and Other Mountain Sports
Do you go canyoning, caving, or via ferrata? RocStatus is your automatic safety system that alerts emergency services if you don't return on time. It works even in caves and areas without cell service or GPS.
HOW IT WORKS
Register your activity: indicate where you're going, when you start, and when you expect to finish.
Check in at the start of your activity.
Check out at the end.
If you don't return on time, the system automatically escalates alerts until it contacts emergency services (112).
MAIN FEATURES
Automatic alert system to emergency services (112). 24/7 time-based monitoring. If you don't check out within the safety margin, the system progressively escalates alerts: reminder → warning → pre-alert → alert → emergency. You don't need cell service during the activity.
Database of over 1,000 locations in Spain: Canyons, caves, and via ferratas with up-to-date information: current status (OK, caution, closed), water flow, access conditions, required equipment, difficulty level, and community photos.
Real-time community reports: Check and share the status of locations with photos and comments. Information updated by other athletes who have recently been there.
Works offline: Unlike other tracking apps, RocStatus doesn't need continuous GPS or an internet connection during your activity. It records your activity before entering and confirms it upon exiting. Ideal for caves and deep canyons.
Emergency contacts: Add emergency contacts who will be automatically notified if an alert is triggered. Include name, phone number, email, and relationship.
Time extension: Is your activity taking longer than expected? Extend the time from the app without triggering alerts.
Interactive map: Explore all locations on a map with filters for activity type, status, difficulty, and geographic area.
Organizations and Events: Discover mountain organizations and community events. Clubs can manage their locations and publish safety information.
Push Notifications: Receive alerts about status changes at your favorite locations and updates on your activities.
Offline Mode: Works without an internet connection. View previously saved location information.
Integration with Rescue Services: RocStatus is integrated with official emergency services: 112, Civil Protection, GREIM (Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group), and the Red Cross.
