About this app

Roll36 is a film camera for Android. 25 film stocks are applied straight to the viewfinder — what you see is exactly what gets saved, with no editing step in between.

THE FILM COMES FIRST, NOT AFTERWARDS
Most camera apps take the photo and then wash a colour over it. Roll36 puts the film between the sensor and the screen. Tap a stock and the frame changes immediately, so you compare two or three against the scene in front of you instead of guessing from a name.

WHAT IS INSIDE
• 25 stocks in 5 groups: everyday colour, vintage, cinema, digital, black and white
• Each stock is a 3D colour lookup table sampled on the GPU, not a saturation slider
• 1080p video with sound, through the identical chain as stills
• 11 controls: grain, grain size, halation, bloom, fade and more
• EXIF keeps shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length and the stock's name
• Works fully with no signal

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS NEVER LEAVE YOUR PHONE
No photograph or recording is ever uploaded. There is no server that could receive one. No AI service is involved. We never ask for your location, your contacts, or access to your photo library.

PLANS
Free: 30 saves a day, all 25 stocks, video included, no watermark ever.
Pro (subscription): unlimited saves.

Both plans get every film. The limit is on saving, not on what the camera can do.

What’s new

Fixes washed-out, over-bright photos.

1.1.1 locked metering onto faces, so the camera lifted the whole frame
whenever a face was darker than the scene. That is gone.

The Flash roll is back to doing one thing: lighting the subject and
leaving the background alone. The viewfinder is lighter and smoother too
