A new way to learn Japanese and English at the same time.
Studying Japanese, and feeling your English slip? Pony puts both into the same lesson: one Chinese sentence, with its Japanese and its English side by side on the same card. Japanese is brand new; English gets woken back up. No second app, no second study session.
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD
Pony's app interface (menus, buttons, settings) is in Chinese. The lesson cards are trilingual — Japanese, romaji, English and Chinese side by side — but navigating the app requires reading Chinese. Pony is built for Chinese speakers, not for English-only speakers.
WHAT'S INSIDE
• One card, three ways to say it — "これ、おいしい!", "This is delicious!" and "这个好好吃!" together, so the differences are right in front of you
• 18 chapters, 891 lessons — real scenes (office, shopping, travel, dining, business trips, sightseeing) up to N3 topics like health, emergencies and social issues. Each opens with the dialogue, then the grammar it just used, then the words
• Kanji bridges — Japanese kanji explained side by side with the Chinese characters you already read; katakana loanwords matched to their English
• Speaking practice — record yourself in Japanese or English and get an instant pronunciation score. Recognition runs on your phone; we never receive or store your recordings
• Kana learned in the background — no separate "kana course"; a few rows at the start of each chapter, used immediately, and you know them all by the end of chapter 10
• Gentle ramp — chapter 1 introduces only 4 new words per lesson, easing up to 8 later on
• Placement test + spaced review — start at your real level, review on a forgetting-curve schedule
Japanese spans N5 through N3; English stays mostly at junior-high level. 9,000+ cards for listening, speaking, reading and writing. Vocabulary is taught with hand-drawn illustrations, and built-in neural-voice audio reads both the Japanese and the English.
The first three chapters are free: At the Office, Shopping and Getting Around — 128 lessons, including chapter exams and the Japanese/English side lessons. Paid content starts at chapter 4, Eating Out, where you learn the four verb forms (ます / ました / ません / ませんでした) side by side with English present, past and negatives (don't / didn't). To unlock everything, subscribe monthly, quarterly or yearly (new subscribers get a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan), or buy once for life.
