ROMTEN is a service developed for companies currently employing or considering employing foreign employees. It checks for counterfeit residence cards with the aim of preventing illegal employment.

■Usage Overview: Use for labor management of existing staff or when hiring new staff.
Step 1:
Launch the app and enter your residence card number or upload a photo.
Step 2:
Hold your foreign employee's residence card over your mobile phone for 10 seconds to display the information embedded in the IC chip.
Step 3:
By comparing it with the actual card and checking for any discrepancies, you can identify applicants with counterfeit residence cards before hiring them, helping to prevent illegal employment.

By providing reliable residence card information (such as residence status expiration date and work eligibility), employers can hire foreigners with peace of mind.

In addition to verifying IC chip information and personal information, the app presents the following information that must be verified before hiring:

-Verify identity by comparing with the photo registered with the Immigration Bureau
-Verify type of residence status
-Verify residence status expiration date
-Verify accurate work permit

There are laws that must be observed when hiring foreigners.

If an employer neglects to verify the residence card at the time of hiring and an employee employs illegally using a forged residence card, the employer will also be held liable.

Under the crime of "encouraging illegal employment" under Article 73-2, Paragraph 1 of the Immigration Control Act, the employer may be subject to imprisonment of up to three years or a fine of up to 3 million yen.
