The Southern Wine Route offers exciting experiences for all ages. With this free app, you can embark on a journey of discovery into the past and explore the region's unique features. Whether it's a family outing, a hike with children, or a varied tour through the Palatinate – the app accompanies you on your journeys.

Short videos and audio files invite you to take breaks along the way. Play stations along the trails provide an ideal blend of digital and real-world hiking experiences. The map function lets you see your current location at any time. Age-appropriate informational texts provide fascinating background information.

The Trifels Adventure Trail leads you from the medieval town of Annweiler up to Trifels Castle. Along the 3.6 km trail, marked with the monk symbol, 18 play and learning stations await you. A quiz accompanies you along the way – if you answer all the questions correctly, a surprise awaits you.

Trifels Castle is one of the most famous landmarks on the Southern Wine Route and is visible from afar. Another station in the app is located inside the castle. Please note the opening hours and admission fees. The Museum unterm Trifels in the historic old town of Annweiler also offers fascinating insights into the town and castle's history.

Other features of the app include the city tour of Annweiler am Trifels, the Chestnut Adventure Trail, and the Climate and Nature Discovery Trail in Silz.

On the city tour through the historic old town, you'll learn interesting facts about history and sights. Besides the town hall and church, you'll also learn more about tanners, frescoes, and the Hohenstaufen era.

The Chestnut Adventure Trail is dedicated to the sweet chestnut, which is typical of the region. On the approximately 6 km long circular route, you'll learn more about the work of foresters, the importance of the chestnut – also in the context of climate change – its use as food, as well as conservation efforts and risks.

On the Climate and Nature Discovery Trail in Silz, you'll discover the habitats of water and forest and gain fascinating insights into the challenges of climate change. You can choose between the 2 km lake loop and the 8 km forest loop. Interactive stations along the way make both routes varied and engaging. The app also features interviews with experts on climate, forestry, and nature conservation. Informative texts for children and adults clearly explain ecological connections.

The app can be used offline, so all content is available even without a network connection. Simply download the app, select your chosen adventure trail, and start hiking – perfect for your next trip to the Palatinate.
