Most word games hand you a pile of loose letters. Root & Stem hands you meaning.

Instead of letters, you build with the real building blocks of language: prefixes, roots and suffixes. Snap "re" + "port" + "er" together and you grow REPORTER. Every word you make flips a card revealing its hidden anatomy ("back + carry + one who"), so your vocabulary quietly deepens while you play.

DIFFICULTY, YOUR WAY
Pick a fixed level, Very Easy to Hard, or let Auto grow the challenge with you: tiles start grouped and colour-coded, then the pot mixes, rogue decoy blocks creep in, and finally the colours fall away. Harder play pays bigger score multipliers. Struggling? The game quietly eases the next root.

Every word you ever grow is pressed into a permanent, searchable journal with its meaning and discovery date. It survives restarts, the garden is a keepsake.

Finish all 127 roots and a mirrored REVERSE GARDEN unlocks: now the card shows the meaning and you must build the word from memory, 127 more challenges at double score, with a heartfelt finale when you complete them all. Or roam the WILD GARDEN: a free-build mode with a mixed tray from every family and a weekly best to chase. Perfectionists can replay any root at full difficulty for flawless Second Bloom badges.
