About this app

What's new in version 1.6?
APP: Several bug fixes and stability improvements.

ROVE R3 Firmware Update: Version R3-09-09-2022

1) MOST REQUESTED FEATURE: Retain the previous camera settings after the firmware update. Once you update this firmware, it will allow you to retain your camera settings every time you update your R3 to the latest firmware in the future. (NOTE: This update will NOT retain your previous settings, however, after this firmware 9-9-2022 installation, your next update will retain all the previous settings stored after future updates)
2) Added Main LCD User Interface rotation to 180 degrees when the user rotates the camera or prefers to mount it upside down on their dashboard vs. the windshield.
3) Added Parking Mode Timeout Feature that allows the dash cam to be turned off automatically after the set number of hours of operation when 24HR parking mode is initiated.
4) Added New Voice Guidances for 24HR Parking Mode: i.e., When you turn OFF your car, and when the camera goes into parking mode, now you will hear new voice guidance stating "Entering Parking Mode" + "Time-Lapse Recording Started" and when you start your car for the next day, you will hear "Turning OFF Parking Mode" + Recording Started" >> This allows users to know exactly when the camera is entering the parking mode and when it's entering the normal recording mode.
5) Added full-screen mode for all three camera views. Swipe down to enter full-screen mode, then swipe left or right to switch between front+cabin+ rear cameras. Swipe up to return to the home screen.
6) Renamed video recording G-sensor and parking mode G-sensor to ease the confusion > Now the new options will be "1 Triggers at Low Impact" and "9 Triggers at High Impact".
7) Fixed missing Yellow Parking Mode time-lapse icon during parking mode. After the parking mode was activated, the camera returned to time-lapse parking mode. However, the timelapse icon was missing.
8) Fixed the WiFi Always ON setting turned OFF after the camera goes from 24HR parking mode to the normal recording mode.
9) Added an Auto IR LED trigger delay to prevent unnecessary triggering due to bridges and underpasses.
10) Fixed Rear camera rotation setting not being saved when connected with hardwire kit, and only front and rear cam were selected.
11) Fixed the incorrect recording icon; the auto recording was not initiated after formatting the memory card the first time.
12) Added a feature for users to lock and unlock the video from the ROVE apps manually.
13) Fixed the time stamp issue where 12:15 am is now stamped 00:15 am when the time is set to 12 hours mode
14) Other minor bug fixes and performance enhancements.

The ROVE Dash Cam app connects ROVE dash cameras to your smartphone wirelessly using the WiFi Feature. This allows you to access the live videos within the 10m WiFi range from the dash cam, configure your dash cam settings, update firmware remotely, and so much more. It also lets you download the recorded videos and share them with your friends and family via all common sharing platforms.

Features of The ROVE app
(The app features four main sections).
1. LIVE VIDEO - This allows you to view, start or stop a live video recording.
2. DASH CAM VIDEO - allows you to view recorded videos and photos on
your smartphone.
3. LOCAL VIDEO - lets you access your downloaded footage
4. DASH CAM SETTING - enables you to access and modify the dash cam video settings and system settings on your smartphone under your fingertips so you can easily set up your dash cam using a larger screen.
Connecting the ROVE app is super easy.
STEP 1 - Turn On the WiFi feature on the compatible ROVE dash cam from the system setting.
STEP 2 - Open the smartphone’s WiFi setting and join the ROVE WiFi network using the default password “12345678”.
STEP 3 - Once the connection is successful, open the app, and it will automatically sync to the dash cam that you have connected with WiFi.

The app is buggy especially when trying to select, unlock, delete videos. I tried many times to delete a locked event video - I tried unlocking and then deleting but the video is still there. Also if you manual manually want to lock videos, there is absolutely no indication of which videos are locked or not (maybe that isn't working either). I also have to disable mobile data completely for the camera to connect on wifi. The camera itself is great, but the app doesn't work for simple things.

It is complete garbage. The entire time I never had a nap and I've had the camera for about 2 and 1/2 years and something finally happened where I had to attempt to pull footage off of it so I downloaded the app and upon going in and looking for any type of footage whatsoever it is completely blank. I'm not able to watch her from the camera nor from the app. Upon trying to change settings on the app for the camera it doesn't do Jack diddly squat.

When I can get it to connect to the camera, the app does everything I need. The problem is getting it to connect. I am using the Rove 2K-4K. I can be connected to the camera's Wi-Fi, but the app will not believe I am connected. It keeps telling me to connect, even though I have been connected for quite some time. I have tried to connect to the camera *repeatedly* over the last two days. In many multiple attempts, it has only connected one time. Reply to developer: I am using the latest version
