Who is Saleh bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hussein?
He, may God have mercy on him, held several positions, including the General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars, and a member of the Presidential Council of the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
His Excellency Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Aziz Al Husayn was born in Shaqra, Saudi Arabia in the year 1351 AH / 1932 AD, and graduated from the College of Sharia in the Kingdom in the year 1374 AH / 1955 AD. Then he obtained a master’s degree in legal studies from the Institute of Arabic Studies in Cairo in the year 1380 AH / 1960 AD. He also studied and became acquainted with both English and French. He received studies in the circles of knowledge in the Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, and memorizing the Holy Qur’an at the hands of Sheikh Ishaq Kurdi. He began his scientific career as a teacher, then became a legal advisor in the Saudi Ministry of Finance, then head of the Disciplinary Board in the year 1390 AH / 1970 AD. After that, he became a Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers, and he is now the General President for the affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, and head of the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue, as well as a member of the Supreme Council for Call and Guidance.
He died, may God have mercy on him, on Saturday evening, 24 Jumada al-Akhira 1434 AH at the age of 82, and he was prayed for at the Al-Rajhi Mosque in Riyadh after the afternoon prayer on Sunday, corresponding to 25 Jumada al-Akhra 1434 AH, and he was buried, may God have mercy on him, in the Naseem cemetery.
