Do you use an external windscreen cover to avoid condensation on your windscreen?
DefCon9 provides motorhome owners with an accurate calculation of the risk of condensation forming on their windscreen overnight.
It is very easy to use:
- Provide some simple details of your vehicle and occupants.
- DefCon9 then gets a weather forecast for the coming night for your locality, including temperature, wind speed, humidity and dew-point.
- It then uses a sophisticated physics model to predict the chance of condensation forming on your windscreen over night!
The prediction is presented simply as SAFE, MINIMAL, MODERATE, HIGH or CRITICAL risk, but you can also view a more detailed list of parameters used in the calculation. You can also view a fully explained rationale for the prediction, the contributing factors and recommended actions.
If condensation is predicted, you might want to take precautions such as fitting an external screen cover, to insulate the glass and so prevent the condensation. Or you might choose to increase your heating or ventilation.
It works anywhere in the world and as long as your device has network, it gives a result immediately. It is intended to be used when the vehicle is occupied, rather than in storage.
Future versions will include proactive alerting, allowing you to say: "For 14 days, check at 8pm and if the risk of condensation is above 50%, ping me an alert to warn me."
