About this app

Set & Shot is the field record book for pest control, trapping and shooting — built with the law woven in from the start, not bolted on.

Pick your country when you set up the app, and Set & Shot shows you the quarry and the rules that actually apply where you are: the UK's four nations, the USA, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and more. It runs entirely on your device — no account, no cloud, nothing sent anywhere.

WHAT'S LEGAL, WHERE YOU ARE
Before you set a trap, lay bait or take a shot, Set & Shot checks the species, the method, the trap, the season and the time of day against the current rules for your region — and tells you before you act, not after.

• Only traps that are actually approved for a species are offered. In the UK, the app knows the Fenn Mk4 stopped being approved for stoat in April 2020, and shows you which traps you can use instead.
• Poison and rodenticide use is recorded with the product, batch number and amount laid, alongside the stewardship duties you're expected to follow, with a link to the scheme for your country (CRRU in the UK).
• Falconry is included as a method, for keepers and pest controllers who work birds of prey where a rifle or shotgun isn't an option.
• Clear, plain-English law summaries for shooting, trapping, snares and poison, with links to the official source for your region.

A PROPER FIELD DIARY
• Log species, method, quantity, weather and location in seconds.
• GPS grid reference (OS National Grid in the UK) captured automatically, or entered by hand when you've no signal.
• Three screen themes: a bright day view, dark, and a red night mode that won't wreck your eyes for lamping.

TRAPS ON THE MAP
• Drop a pin for every trap and snare line on a satellite map.
• One-tap "checked" logging, with a reminder clock set to your region's legal check interval.
• A clear alert the moment a trap falls overdue.

THE GUNROOM
• Record every rifle and shotgun, with make, model, calibre and setup.
• Firearm serial numbers are locked behind your device's Face ID, Touch ID or passcode, and never leave the phone.
• Ammunition stock that counts down as you log shots, with lead and non-lead clearly flagged, plus a full reloading ledger for your home loads.
• Keep a running count of every trap you own.

PAPERWORK, SORTED
• A firearms-renewal evidence pack: a month-per-page calendar of your firearm use, ready to show your licensing department, with serial numbers masked.
• Landowner permission forms, signed on the device with your finger and sent by text or email.
• A document vault for certificates, insurance and correspondence, with renewal reminders, locked behind biometrics.
• Full CSV export of your diary.

YOURS, AND PRIVATE
Everything is stored on your device. There's no account to create, no cloud database, and nothing is tracked or sold. Set & Shot is a one-off purchase, not a subscription.
