About this app

RuleCMS for Android is the companion app to RuleCMS, the headless CMS at rulecms.com. Teams use RuleCMS to build website widgets, publish them to staging and production, and embed them in their own sites. This app keeps that work moving when you are away from your desk.

Sign in with the email and password of your existing RuleCMS account. The app shows only the organizations, teams and actions your role allows, using the same permissions as the website.

Widgets and collections
• Browse and search the widgets and collections in any environment
• Create widgets and collections, and rename or delete widgets
• Edit a widget's or collection's item list as JSON
• Make a copy, or copy it to another environment in the same project

Preview
• Render a draft or any published version at phone, tablet and desktop widths
• Compare two versions side by side, rendered or as a JSON diff
• Preview environment templates and create a widget from one

Publishing and history
• Publish to staging or production, with an optional tag and description
• Promote content to staging or production
• Browse publish history, restore an earlier version to draft, or republish it

Projects and environments
• Create and edit projects, and add environments
• Edit project CSS styles as JSON
• View remote configurations

Teams and organizations
• Add team members and see who is active
• View user groups and their members
• Accept or reject requests to join your team
• Register apps, and create, enable or disable API tokens
• See your team's monthly widget request counts
• Rename organizations you administer, add organization administrators and create teams
• No team yet? Create your own workspace (organization, team, project, environments and tokens) in one step

Media
• Upload images and videos to your team's media library from your device's files or the camera
• Browse your team's media by tag

Account
• Edit your profile
• Start deleting your account from the Account screen

Good to know
• You need a RuleCMS account. Accounts are created on rulecms.com, not in the app.
• The drag-and-drop visual composer is on the website. In the app you edit content as JSON.
• Previews use the default RuleCMS component library, so widgets built with a team's own component library can look different from your live site.
