About this app

Prepare for the reading (written) section of the J.TEST Test of Practical Japanese with 1,500 original practice questions.
Every explanation can be read in English, not only in Japanese.
The app works fully offline, with no account and no ads.

Made for people who need to show their Japanese ability for work or study in Japan.

WHAT IS INSIDE
- Three level groups: A-C, D-E and F-G
- 500 questions in each group, 1,500 questions in total
- All items are original practice questions written for this app
- Category sets of 10 questions (1-10, 11-20, and so on)
- A random 10-question set that is built again every time you start it
- Question types: multiple choice, typing the reading of a word, several blanks in one question, and short written answers
- Automatic scoring, plus self-scoring for written answers

READING MOCK EXAMS
Take a full-length reading test that follows the structure, score weighting and time limit of the real reading section:
- A-C: 80 minutes, 500 points for reading
- D-E: 70 minutes, 350 points for reading
- F-G: 60 minutes, 175 points for reading
When you finish, the result screen shows every option, your own answer, the correct or model answer, and an explanation.

REFERENCE ESTIMATE (UNOFFICIAL)
After you complete a reading mock exam, the app shows an estimated total score and an estimated level. This is a rough guide produced by this app alone. It assumes that you would reach the same percentage in listening. It is not an official result, and it is not a promise of any grade.

STUDY TOOLS
- Review queue: questions you answer incorrectly are collected automatically
- Bookmarks for questions you want to come back to
- Study history and a daily study streak
- Radar charts of your progress by category and by the four skill areas
- Furigana (ruby) above kanji. On kanji questions the furigana on the answer options is hidden, so the answer is not given away
- Handwriting pad that uses on-device Japanese handwriting recognition (Apple Vision). Nothing is sent anywhere, and you can switch to the keyboard at any time
- Study reminders as local notifications, on the days and times you choose

STUDY IN YOUR OWN LANGUAGE
The interface is available in 11 languages: Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepali, Burmese, Indonesian, Mongolian and Thai. Explanations are available in Japanese plus the 10 other languages, English included. You can set the interface language and the explanation language separately.

Please note: question texts, reading passages and answer options are shown in Japanese, the same as in the real exam. Only the interface and the explanations are translated.

OFFLINE AND PRIVATE
- Questions, explanations and fonts are all stored inside the app
- The app itself does not connect to the internet while you study
- No sign-up and no login
- Your study data stays on your device. There is no cloud sync
- No advertising

This first version covers the reading (written) section only. Listening questions and audio are not included.
