Looks like these guys are just trying to monetize further. They used to have an online configurator that didn't require an app, now you have to have the app. Their doors are already way over priced and don't even offer wifi automation. I'll probably be splicing in a smart relay switch and make a YouTube video of it just to show how easy it would be to make this thing wifi enabled.

The app will configure the door like it says, even allowing you do it by your GPS location. It may be better if it was laid out differently. It seems a little confusing at first until you play with it a bit. I don't think it needed access to my info like I saw in other comments. It didn't give me any problems. It wasn't glitchy or anything. The battery power tracker in the app, I think is just going off the date you activate it. There is no actual reading going on other than the calander date.

Too be fair I have been using the chicken run door for a couple of weeks. The door seem to work, if your chickens go in before the door closes. I think the main issue that needs work is the app. As said by others, in order to use the app you have to be near the door. It can take a while for the app to reconnect to the door which it has to do each time. The 3 stars is not necessarily for the door but the app. The actual door needs a way to manually open and close without the app.
