Lobotune Radio is a modern internet radio app for Android. It draws on the open radio-browser.info directory of stations worldwide, wrapped in a clean, dark-mode-ready design.
Discover, don't just search
Popular in your country, popular worldwide, top rated, trending, plus browsing by country (with flags), language and genre, each with its station count. Endless scrolling, no dead ends.
Find exactly your station
Search by name with filters for country, language, genre, format and minimum bitrate, sorted the way you like. The start screen adds quick genre picks and tips for getting started.
Listen without interruption
A mini player sits above the tab bar; the full-screen player shows station icon, name, artist and title (ICY/ID3 metadata, including HLS streams). Playback continues in the background with a notification and lock-screen controls, and resumes at the tap of a headset or Bluetooth button.
Shape the sound, not just find the station
A real, built-in 10-band equalizer: not a shortcut to the system panel. Presets for bass, treble, speech, quiet listening and small speakers sit alongside genre presets, or take full manual control across ±12 dB. Save your own sound per station, since one station plays music, talk and news in turn.
Favorites that stay useful
A heart on every list and in the player, with an "undo" confirmation that puts things back exactly where they were, your own drag-to-reorder order, and automatic refresh of stream addresses from the directory so favorites don't quietly go stale.
Wake up to radio, not silence
Set an alarm with your own station, days of the week and volume. Alarms fire on the minute via exact alarms, even in Doze, and are rescheduled automatically after a restart. If the station is unreachable when the alarm fires (no network, station offline, stream too slow), a built-in fallback tone plays instead: an alarm that goes silent is worse than none at all.
Record what you're hearing
Capture the stream you're currently listening to straight to your device. Recording connects to the station independently of playback, so it keeps running even if you pause. Files stay local in your device's Music folder; nothing is uploaded anywhere, and no microphone permission is ever requested.

Beyond internet stations, Lobotune Radio connects to Music Player Daemon (MPD) servers on your local network.
History and tidy lists
A history page groups the stations you've listened to by day, with the tracks that played; tap a title to copy it, swipe an entry away to remove it (with undo). Directory entries that are keyword lists rather than real station names are hidden automatically, and that filter can be switched off again.
Your data stays yours
No account, no login, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDK of any kind. Lobotune Radio doesn't collect or transmit anything about you: see the in-app privacy policy for the full, short answer.
In German and English, with light and dark themes and dynamic color, and no permission dialogs on first launch: everything works right away, and Lobotune Radio only asks when a specific feature (an alarm, a recording, a local-network station) actually needs it.

New: hide stations without a logo. Alarms wake you gently with a curve and time of your choice, are set on a page of their own and say which alarm woke you, with your own message. Pick the country for "Popular in ...".
