SET YOUR BASELINE
The Rypstick Training App will prompt you through a baseline test to determine your starting swing speed and will predict your carry and total, distance based on your clubhead speed. Setting your initial baseline is important to track your progress while training with the Rypstick and Training App.

The Rypstick Training Protocols, designed by PGA Teacher of the Year, Dr. Luke Benoit, will transform your swing speed, helping you pick up MAJOR distance. The Rypstick is versatile unlike any other training aid, with a full-length shaft, 8 weight combinations, and an auditory swishing sound that helps you train your release point precisely where you need it. It was extremely frustrating when I first used the app. Partway through the training if I moved my phone the training would just stop and I'd be back at the beginning. And there is no way to fast forward back to where I was. I found the fix though, is to turn off the auto rotate on my display. Haven't had a problem since as long as I remember to do it ahead of time. Support was very nice; they sent me the training in pdf files very quickly when I complained.

Leaving the app opened causes some Android system apps to start crashing. When doing a workout, the screen locks, and occasionally starts the workout over. This wouldn't bother me so much, if there was a quick way to jump past the workout timers, and begin entering my baseline manually from the same screen; instead I have to go back to the main menu to do that. The app is mostly usable, but these things are pretty annoying.

The concept and training methods are great. The app could be cleaned up better, & the RypRadar could be more consistent. The radar is dependent on where you are swinging relative to the radar. Unlike other swing monitors like Trackman or Foresight where you have a wide range to swing in to detect swing speed, you have to be pretty exact with the RypRadar, or it'll give wide variance. The app needs to automatically integrate with the radar instead of having to manually input the radar speeds.
