CWPP Mobile Application

The CWPP (Community Water Purification Plant) Mobile Application is a comprehensive digital tool designed to streamline field data collection and enable real-time monitoring of CWPP installations and their operational status across rural areas. Developed specifically to support PHED Divisions, the application ensures traceability, safety, and sustainability in the delivery of purified drinking water.

The app features two distinct panels for different user roles. One Panel facilitates the one-time upload of site details during installation, while the Agency Panel supports status updates and water quality reporting. During the initial survey, ISAs input key information including Gram Panchayat (GP), village, habitation, CWPP ID, operator details, and the name of the installation/maintenance agency (PHED or other). OTP-based verification ensures data authenticity, and upon submission, a unique CWPP ID is generated using a standardized format.

Maintenance agencies are required to revisit each CWPP site weekly to update operational parameters. These include the current water quality status (Arsenic and Iron levels), photographic documentation of the CWPP system and information board, last backwash date, and the date of water testing. Uploading a photo of the site’s information board—clearly displaying the CWPP ID—is mandatory for audit and verification purposes.

The CWPP app is optimized for use in rural and remote locations, supporting full offline functionality. Users can collect data offline and synchronize it later by selecting the “Yes” option on the Data Sync screen when internet access is available. All users log in securely with credentials, and OTP-based verification is enforced during key data submissions to maintain integrity and accountability.

The application’s user interface is clean, intuitive, and efficient. It includes a splash screen, secure login and OTP verification, a role-based dashboard, and dropdown-based location selectors to ensure accurate and user-friendly data entry. Seamless navigation enables field staff to move easily between upload and update tasks.

The CWPP Mobile Application plays a pivotal role in strengthening the Jal Jeevan Mission and other state-level initiatives by digitizing workflows and ensuring transparent, verifiable, and consistent monitoring of water purification efforts. It empowers field-level workers and agencies to maintain structured records and uphold public health standards in rural water supply systems.
