About this app

Sleep soundly at anchor: Sailino Anker watches your anchor position by GPS and raises the alarm if the anchor drags.

NEW: SIMPLE MODE – ONE NUMBER IS ENOUGH
The classic teach-in asks for a bearing, a chain length and a sounding. On a charter yacht nobody has them: how much chain actually went over the bow is a guess even for the person who let it out, and how much of it lies heaped on the bottom is never visible from deck.
Simple mode asks the one question anyone can answer: how much room does the boat have? The circle is drawn live on the chart as you set it – you choose the number by eye, against the neighbours and the shore, instead of typing it blind. No chain, no depth, no bearing.

NEW: THE ANCHOR FINDS ITSELF
A boat at anchor turns about the point where its chain reaches the seabed. Once it has swung far enough, its own track reveals exactly that point. After about half an hour Sailino Anker says so and offers to centre the watch there – telling you how far away it is and what that costs you on the far side of the circle. Offered, never applied behind your back.

NEW: THE ANCHOR ITSELF IS WATCHED
Locating the anchor again half an hour later says whether it is still there. It is the only way to notice an anchor creeping a couple of metres an hour while the boat sits comfortably inside its circle with nothing else to report.

NO FALSE ALARMS WHILE SWINGING
Sailino Anker does not judge the boat's raw movement but the centre it swings around, so normal swinging on the chain raises no alarm.
– An early approach warning with the room you have left, before the anchor alarm itself
– The alarm fires only after several consecutive GPS positions outside the watch circle, widened by half the boat's length and by the accuracy the GPS itself reports
– Leaving the circle sounds a loud alarm and repeats it until it is dealt with
– Detects a carried phone: the watch suspends itself and says so, instead of reading your walk down the pontoon as a dragging anchor
– And it speaks up when it can no longer see – a silent watch is the one failure you cannot notice in your sleep

MAP & ANCHORAGES
– Boating map with anchorages, marinas and sea marks (OpenSeaMap layers)
– Anchor charts that stay sharp even at boat-length zoom

ANCHOR LOG
– Record anchorages and anchoring maneuvers with photos
– The track is drawn from the moment you start, with a marker on the spot you started from – the whole night at a glance

No account required. Runs reliably in the background, in English, German and 16 more languages.

Important: an anchor watch app supplements good seamanship and a proper anchor watch – it never replaces them.

What’s new

A smaller download, and quicker to start. Nothing about the anchor watch changes — it teaches in, alarms and stands down exactly as before.
