• Choose the apps to block during your session.
• Create your library, identify the book you're reading, and track your progress.
• See your daily and weekly reading time, sessions, and series.
• Set a gentle reading reminder at a time and day that works for you.
• Sync your books and reading history across devices with your account.
How does Shield Mode work?
Shield Mode uses the Android Accessibility service to stop only the apps you select during your Read or Focus session. It does not read text, messages, passwords, or personal content from the screen. It only identifies which apps are open on the screen. App selections remain on your device, and you can turn off permission at any time in Android settings.
Notification access is optional. If you enable it, distracting notifications from selected apps may remain silent throughout the session.
Usage access for the Attention Report in the Statistics tab is optional. If you enable it, Calm only calculates app usage times and opening times on the phone; it does not read screen content and does not send this report to the server. Even if you don't grant permission, reading statistics and Shield will continue to work.
A Calm NFC bookmark is required for the basic touch experience. The bookmark is a separate physical item.
Tap the bookmark; stop distractions, read, or focus.
