About this app

This mobile app is designed, developed and maintained by SamKnows Limited as commissioned by the Office of the Communications Authority for provision of broadband performance test service in Hong Kong. The data usage for the use of this mobile app varies with the speed of mobile broadband connection under test. Please refer to “About” tab inside the app for the evaluation of data usage. Users are advised to keep track of their data usage from time to time in order to avoid any unnecessary mobile bill charges.

UI change of new version 2.0.2208 is really poor Instead of previous car dashboard style meter speed display, new UI change now only displays speed in digits. The digits are small. Not that intuitive as old UI. Even worse is the "Result" page, which should act as a summary list of "results" (most important results are download and upload speeds), now only a summary of "testing ID". Don't sacrifice UI for additional data Jitter and package loss % which are less referenced by most users.

The upload speedtest always failed when the bandwidth is limited at 4Mbps in the latest version, but the speetest are normal in the 2.0.2208, 2.0.2246, 2.0.2276 and 2.0.4069 version. Please fix the problem. I also tested 2.1.4736 but failed. The problem is same as the lastest version 2.1.4871. The same app in iOS is no problem. Please fix the app for Android.

Date: 2020 Jul 25, Time: 11:30pm. Speed incredibly slow. Made me check my network thoroughly to try and fix the "problem". Turned out it is a problem with your testing app. Other speed test sites report normal speed. Tried accessing a big file at a local site in HK, no issues. Your app shows 0.06 Mbps download speed. Uninstalling. Just because you wasted my time troubleshooting for nothing.
