Tile Calculator is a clean, fast tool for working out how many tiles a floor or wall needs — completely offline. Enter the surface size and your tile size, and it instantly shows the area, the number of tiles, the count once waste is added, and how many boxes to buy.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

METRIC AND IMPERIAL
Switch between metric (rooms in metres, tiles in centimetres, joints in millimetres) and imperial (feet and inches). Every result is labelled with the right unit, so there is no guesswork.

HOW IT WORKS
Each tile covers slightly more than its own size because of the grout joint, so the app adds the gap to both tile dimensions before fitting them to your surface. It then rounds up to whole tiles and applies your waste allowance — the same method a tiler uses on site.

Ready-made presets — a bathroom floor, a kitchen splashback, a living room and an imperial porch — show how tile size, joints and waste change the count. A built-in Learn tab explains measuring the area, why you add waste, why grout joints matter, and practical layout tips.

These figures are an estimate to help you plan and budget. Your real total depends on your layout, pattern, cuts and surface. Always confirm quantities with your tile supplier, buy from a single batch for consistent shade, and keep a few spares for future repairs.

The app collects no personal data and works fully offline — your figures never leave your device. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use an advertising identifier as described in Google's policies.
