About this app

Excel Reader is a small, no-frills app for opening spreadsheet files on your phone or tablet — nothing more.

WHAT IT DOES
• Opens .xlsx (Excel 2007+) and .csv files
• Lists every spreadsheet file already on your device, or open one directly from another app
• Search across a sheet, with results highlighted and scrolled into view automatically
• Pinch to zoom in and out, or use the +/- buttons — handy for wide sheets on a small screen
• Multiple sheets in one file show as tabs

WHAT IT DOESN'T DO
This is deliberately a simple viewer, not a full spreadsheet editor: no editing, no formulas recalculated, no legacy .xls (pre-2007 Excel) or .ods (OpenDocument) support. If that's what you need, this isn't the right app.

YOUR FILES STAY ON YOUR DEVICE
Nothing is ever uploaded anywhere. There's no account, no sign-in, no internet connection required to open a file, and no ads in this version. The app only reads files — it never modifies or deletes anything.

ABOUT THE FILE ACCESS PERMISSION
To list every spreadsheet file on your device (not just ones this app created itself), Excel Reader requests "All files access." This is used only to find and read .xlsx/.csv files — never to access, modify, or send anything else. If you'd rather not grant that, you can still open individual files directly from any file manager or another app's "Share"/"Open with" menu.
