Harbor Lookout offers a clear window into the shipping activity across western Lake Superior—including Duluth, MN; Superior, WI; Two Harbors, MN; and Silver Bay, MN. Explore an interactive map and ship list to view real-time details for each vessel—including arrival estimates, vessel size, heading, speed, and cargo information. Use estimated arrival and departure times together with each ship’s live location to plan your visit and experience vessels passing through in person. Prefer to watch from afar? Harbor Lookout provides direct access to strategically placed cameras throughout the region so you can observe ship traffic remotely. Enable push notifications for ship arrivals and departures so you never miss a vessel. For visitors and newcomers, the app also includes a brief history of the Aerial Lift Bridge, the port cities, and the cargo vessels that work the western side of Lake Superior.

The new version is great. I love the images of ships, ship information and push notifications. This is a must-have if you're a ship watcher in western Lake Superior.

Not always accurate for time/dates of arrivals & departures. Vessel info always missing heading, location, speed, status, lat/lon, loads, destinations. Map regularly not working. No way to set alarms/reminders for specific vessel's arrivals or departures. Vessel history is totally screwed up. Dates/times, locations, loads, destination, arrivals/departures Some items on history page repeat same thing 10 times over. No detailed historical biographies about each vessel or crew.

Zero notifications. I had notifications set for departures, arrivals, and even the 1 hour and 30 minute warnings. Not a single notification, causing several missed boats.
