About this app

Sensory training for whiskey — on your phone. You already taste it; Savorant gives you the word, then proves it blind. Ninety seconds a day, with the bottle you already own. Free to start, no card.

Experts don't smell better than you — tested side by side, their noses come out about the same. What they have is association: matching what is in the glass against things they already know, and giving it its true name. That is trainable, and Savorant is the training.

HOW IT WORKS

- Ten families of flavor, each anchored to something from a grocery shelf. Smell the real caramel, then meet it in the glass — the anchor hands your mind a handle it already owns.
- Say your note out loud, at the glass. Savorant maps your words, mirrors your note back in tasting order — nose, palate, finish — and offers one better word. One nudge per note, never a red pen.
- Every word you earn joins a library, and the next glass is read against it. A name sharpens the next smell; the sharper smell earns another name.
- Then check it blind. Triangle tests scored with honest statistics — and the app stays silent until there are enough rounds to mean anything.
- Months later, one mystery pour in six is secretly a whiskey you already read. Did the same families answer? Did your measures land in the same place? That consistency — not a certificate — is what the training is for.

WHAT IS FREE

The ten families and their lessons, unlimited guided tastings, your own record, and the first 6 of 35 course units. You can use Savorant and never pay us.

WHAT IS PAID

$29.99 a year, or $69.99 once (Founding Taster), for the rest of the course, the blind engine, the drills, and the numbers. Every new account starts with 30 days of everything — no card, nothing to cancel.

WHAT IT WILL NOT DO

It will not improve your sense of smell. Training changes what you can name and tell apart — not the hardware. And your record is private; nobody else sees it.

Savorant is a companion to The Slow Pour. For adults of legal drinking age — 21+ · United States only, for now.

What’s new

Back now works everywhere: the phone's Back button steps back through the app instead of leaving it, and a back arrow sits on every screen.
Structure is measured earlier in a session, while your palate is fresh.
Leave asks before dropping unfiled words, and filing no longer hangs on a dead signal.
Bottle suggestions: no allocated bottles, no mixers, and "use what you have" is always an option.
