About this app

Paperkeep is a document scanner and PDF scanner that reads your documents on your phone. Scan receipts, invoices, bills, IDs, contracts and notes, find them later by any word written inside them, and see when something is about to expire.

Text recognition (OCR) and sorting run offline, on your device. Your scans are never uploaded for processing, and you never need an account.

SCAN IN SECONDS
• Automatic edge detection and perspective correction
• Scan many pages into one document
• Import photos from your gallery, up to 20 at a time
• No camera permission needed: the scanner is provided by Google Play services

SEARCH INSIDE EVERY SCAN
• Text is extracted automatically from every page with on-device OCR
• Search by any word on the page, not just the file name
• Copy the extracted text from any page with one tap
• Works with Latin-script languages such as English, French, Spanish and German

ORGANISED FOR YOU
• Sorted into Receipts, Invoices, IDs, Contracts and Notes automatically
• Titled from the shop or company name where it can be read
• Filter your library by category
• Guessed wrong? Change the category or rename the document with a tap

EXPIRY AND DUE DATES
• Finds dates labelled Expiry, Valid until, Due, Renewal or Best before
• Shows how many days are left and flags anything expiring within a month
• An "Expiring soon" filter puts the documents that need attention first

PDF EXPORT
• Save any document as a PDF wherever you choose
• Reorder or delete pages before you export
• Single-page PDFs are always free and never watermarked
• Multi-page PDFs are free 3 times a day. After that, watch a short ad to unlock that document for good, or export with a small "Made with Paperkeep" note in the corner

ENCRYPTED BACKUP YOU CONTROL
• Back up your whole library to one file, encrypted on your phone with AES-256 and a password only you know
• Save it on your phone, Google Drive or any storage app
• Optional: connect your Google account to keep the encrypted backup in the cloud. It is encrypted before upload, so nobody else can read it, including us
• Restore on a new phone without creating duplicates

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No sign-up wall and no subscription
• Documents are processed on your phone, not on a server
• Delete your account and cloud backup at any time from the app
