ScanWrench records what your vehicle actually reported with your own compatible OBD adapter. It preserves codes, context, readiness, supported signals, and a privacy-reduced evidence receipt so you can make the next decision with better information.

Capture a complete standard evidence scan

One connected session can collect vehicle identity, stored, pending, and permanent codes, freeze-frame conditions, supported live readings, readiness monitors, Mode 06 records, calibration identifiers, supply-voltage evidence, and ECU response attribution.

A diagnostic trouble code is the beginning, not a parts verdict. ScanWrench keeps the returned conditions and supporting readings beside the code so you can see what the vehicle actually supplied.

Choose the next useful test

Diagnostic Coach organizes evidence-supported hypotheses and identifies the next safe, economical test. It separates observed facts, reasoned possibilities, and unknowns. A Coach result is a cited hypothesis, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Compare before and after

FixProof keeps pre-service and post-service scans together so you can see what changed after a repair. It records changed evidence but does not certify the repair.

Check a used vehicle with fresh evidence

Buyer Challenge creates a time-bound scan record for a vehicle you are considering. The resulting ScanReceipt shows when the evidence was captured, what responded, and what remained unavailable.

Bring your own compatible adapter

ScanWrench supports compatible customer-supplied Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi OBD adapters. Check the exact adapter before relying on it. A model name is a candidate; the exact unit and vehicle configuration earn the coverage claim.

Keep control of your data

Use optional account features, keep records only on this device, or choose Save Nothing for a memory-only session. ScanWrench explains what will be sent before a feature uploads anything.

Honest coverage

Generic OBD, manufacturer-enhanced data, full-system access, and state-changing functions are different capability levels. ScanWrench reports the level supported by the exact configuration and never turns unavailable data into a claim.

Safety

Use the app only while safely parked. ScanWrench is an informational diagnostic tool, not a substitute for a qualified inspection or repair professional. It does not identify a broken part from a code alone.
