This is a large print checkbook register for your phone. It works like the paper check register that comes with your checks. Write down each check, deposit and bill, and you'll see your balance after every entry.
It's for people who still write checks. If you're moving from paper to a checkbook app, setup takes one screen: type today's balance and you're ready. Every feature is free, with no subscription and no paid upgrade.
How it works
• Tap Payment or Deposit. Type 8420 and it shows $84.20, so there's no decimal point to type.
• Your next check number is ready to tap. Pick a payee you've used before, and if you haven't typed an amount yet, the last one fills in.
• Every line shows the running balance after it, like the last column in a paper checkbook ledger.
• When a check clears the bank, tap its circle. Up top you'll see what's cleared and what isn't yet.
Balance your checkbook with your statement
Once a month your check register and your bank statement should agree. Banks call this reconciling. Open the Balance tab, type the ending balance from the statement and check off the entries on it. When the difference is $0.00, you'll see "Balanced!" If it won't get to zero, you'll know something is missing before you write the next check.
Checking, savings and recurring bills
Use it as your checking account register and add savings too. A transfer is one entry that shows up in both accounts. Set rent or a Social Security deposit to repeat weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly or yearly. It goes into your checkbook register on its date. If your balance goes below zero, you'll see a warning.
Text that's easy to read
Choose Large, Extra large or Huge. The app uses a typeface made for readers with low vision. Payments are red with a minus sign, deposits are green with a plus sign, and you can search by payee, memo, check number or amount.
Your records stay on your phone
There's no bank login and no sign-up. The app never connects to your bank, and it works without internet. Save a backup file to Google Drive or email and restore it on a new phone. You can also export to a spreadsheet (CSV) for Excel or Google Sheets. The app is in English and Spanish.
Free, with ads
The app is free and paid for by ads. Ads never show while you're entering a payment or deposit.
A few questions
Is it a budget app?
No. It's a simple digital checkbook register, so there are no categories, charts or bank syncing.
Will it remind me when a bill is due?
It doesn't send notifications. Recurring bills go in on their date, and the next one is shown at the top.
Can I print it?
Not from the app. Export the CSV file and print it from a computer.
