Smart thermostat works pretty good. Very convenient to control with the smart phone. but overall not all that happy with the Trane brand Heat Pump system that was installed in 2019. So many things have malfunctioned on it over the years since install. Some of them very big items... but many of them little items. I wish I would've went with another brand.

The interface is very clunky and the features are lacking. We used to have an ecobee which was modern-looking and easy to use; this is like going from a sleek tablet to a 90s era desktop. the "events" tab is cluttered, and you can't filter by type of event like "cooling enabled" to show the technician specific event types. There is no "swing band" setting, causing our unit to short cycle. We called customer service and there is nothing they can do. Regret spending the money on a Trane system.

EDITED 12/26/2024. I can't count the number of times I pick up the phone and open the app only to see 'NOT CONNECTED." We have contacted and received no response. Honestly, I thought this feature was going to be really convenient and save money, as we could set it while we were away from home. My recommendation? Buy anything but a Trane: (end of edit) It does not stay connected. It happens frequently and we've gotten no help from the installer.
