I used to have no problems with the app. Our district provides free meals for all students this year, but a la carte items are still charged. I got an email that the balance was low and went to the app to see the recent purchase history. It won't show me one no matter dates I choose. I have always been able to view the purchase history before. I also only got an email notification, nothing from the app itself. I hope there will soon be a fix for these issues.

The app refuses to send notifications. In the app info notification area, it says "This app does not send notifications." It makes keeping up with balances a manual process which is frustrating. Also, the school's breakfast and lunch menus are empty. I'm not sure I can blame the app for this entirely. It's possible the school isn't updating the app, but I have no idea.

I love having this app! It's super convenient to be able to add funds online rather than sending a check or cash into school. I also like being able to set restrictions for a la cart purchases. I also like getting notifications for a low balance. Overall, I've had a great experience with the app. My only recommendation is to be able to set restrictions on breakfast purchases. (My son tends to still buy breakfast at school even after eating at home which cuts into the lunch money budget.)

Hi D,
Thank you for the kind and very detailed review! While specific item restrictions are not in SchoolCafe, you can email your school and ask them to make all breakfast items restricted for your son on their end. They can let us know if they have any trouble. Thanks again, and let us know if we can help with anything else!
Our Best,
