Landhand is a land map for people who work in the country: veterinarians, brand
inspectors, ag suppliers, hunters, anyone who needs to know whose place that is and the
best way to drive there.
Landhand is made by Score Software LLC, a private company in Malta, Montana. It is not a
government app and does not represent any government agency. It shows public records
as the agencies publish them, with a link to each source (listed below).
FIND WHOSE PLACE IT IS
• Tap any spot: the owner's name, mailing address, acres and the county's own record,
from public tax records.
• Fully covered (every parcel, with the owner's name): Montana, Wyoming, Arkansas,
Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Vermont,
West Virginia and Wisconsin. Every other state is only partly covered: some
counties, or property lines without names. The app tells you which when you get
there. Public land, roads and directions work everywhere.
• Search a landowner by name and every parcel they own lights up, with a pin on the
house.
• Public land from the USGS, with who manages it and whether you may enter, cross-checked
against the BLM and state records.
• Walk-in hunting access: Montana Block Management Areas and WMAs, Wyoming walk-in and
hunter management areas, Idaho Access Yes!, Colorado walk-in access, North Dakota
PLOTS and Kansas WIHA, with dates and species. Montana hunting districts.
• The BLM survey grid: townships, sections and quarter-quarters.
GET THERE
• Fastest, shortest and pavement-only routes, drawn on the map and timed the way people
out here actually drive: 70 on the highway, your own speed on gravel, 35 on a two-track.
• Two-tracks, private drives and ranch lanes are drawn too, so not every road shown is public.
Follow posted signs.
• When the house is off the mapped roads, the last stretch is shown dashed and timed.
• One tap hands the route to Google Maps for turn-by-turn.
FOR THE WORKING DAY
• Save clients with a phone number, gate codes, dogs, which drive to take.
• Call or text "on my way, 20 minutes out" with one tap.
• Today: your stops in the best driving order, with miles and minutes between them.
• Mileage log by month, exported as a spreadsheet.
• Herd notes and due dates, with a reminder list.
• Permission letters written for you with the owner's mailing address.
• Brand book lookup: read a Montana brand and find the owner; South Dakota brands by name
(brand data is not a publication of the State of Montana).
WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
• Save any area for offline use: map pictures, every property line and owner inside it.
• Everything you have looked at stays on the phone.
MAPS
• Satellite, hybrid, USGS topo, streets, and satellite photos by date back to 2014.
• 3D terrain, hillshade, named creeks, roads, two-tracks and trails.
• Weather, wind, sunrise and sunset, legal shooting light, moon.
Free for the first week, no account and no card: everything works from the first tap. Then
$4.99 a month or $14.99 a year through Google Play, cancel any time there. No ads. Your
clients and notes stay on your phone unless you share or sync them.
Owner names come from each state's or county's public records and are only as current as
those records. Property lines are not survey lines.
