About this app

Screencake is screenwriting software that gets out of the way. Type, and the page formats itself — scene headings, action, character, dialogue, parentheticals and transitions, laid out to the industry standard, paginated as you go.

WRITE ANYWHERE
The Android app is the same Screencake that runs on Mac, Windows, Linux and in the browser. Writing needs no account: open the app and start a script on this phone or tablet. It works offline; nothing you write leaves the device unless you sign in.

SYNC AND COLLABORATE
Sign in (in your browser, once) and your scripts sync across every device. Invite collaborators to write in the same script at the same time, leave comments on any line, and keep a history of drafts. Sensitive scripts can be end-to-end encrypted on paid plans — the server only ever holds ciphertext.

THINK THE SCRIPT THROUGH
A beat board for the story, an outline and scene cards for structure, a pacing view for rhythm, and character profiles built from the script itself.

TAKE IT TO SET
Revisions with locked pages and colored revision marks, scene numbering, breakdowns, sides, stripboards and call sheets, and a lined-script coverage mode. A table read speaks the script aloud with the device's voices.

BRING FILES IN, SEND FILES OUT
Import Fountain, Final Draft (.fdx), plain text and PDF. Export PDF, Fountain, Final Draft and Word (.docx) straight to your files.
