Meet your new screen pet. Pocket Shimeji brings a tiny animated buddy to life on your phone — walking, climbing walls and ceilings, dropping in for a visit, or just sitting nearby while you use other apps. A cozy little companion for your pocket, inspired by classic shimeji desktop pets and rebuilt for touchscreens.

WATCH YOUR PET REACT TO YOUR BATTERY
Your pet notices your phone’s battery. Plug in and it perks up while you charge. Let the battery run low and it slows down and takes it easy. Turn on the optional battery-percent badge, and add the home-screen widget so you can check in even before enabling the screen overlay.

SIX ORIGINAL CHARACTERS, ZERO KNOCKOFFS
Every mascot — Mochi the hamster, Miso the cat, Pip the penguin, Rumi the fox, Boba the frog, and Numi the bunny — was drawn from scratch for this app. No borrowed characters that could vanish overnight. What you unlock stays yours, saved on your device.

DRAW YOUR OWN PET
Want a pet nobody else has? Open the built-in editor, customize a character, and hand-draw each animation frame with brush, eraser, and color tools — or import your own artwork. Save it and it joins your collection alongside the originals.

RUN MULTIPLE PETS AT ONCE
Start with several pets on screen together and unlock more slots by playing — no forced purchase required. Tap your pets, keep your daily streak going, and earn points for new characters and extra slots.

CUSTOM EMOJI BATTERY OVERLAY
Optionally decorate your status bar with a custom emoji battery theme. To place this decoration correctly above the system status bar, Pocket Shimeji uses the Android AccessibilityService API for this optional feature only.

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE DISCLOSURE
Pocket Shimeji uses the AccessibilityService API solely to position and display a custom emoji battery / status-bar decoration overlay (TYPE_ACCESSIBILITY_OVERLAY).

What it does:
• Draws and aligns your chosen emoji battery theme on the status bar area
• Updates battery level, charging state, and clock on that overlay
• Optionally hides the overlay in apps you mark as not allowed

What it does not do:
• It does not read screen content, messages, passwords, or notifications
• It does not retrieve window content
• It does not collect or share personal data through AccessibilityService
• It does not change system settings without your permission
• It does not prevent you from disabling the service or uninstalling the app

This service is optional and off by default. Enable it only if you want the emoji battery overlay, in Settings → Accessibility → Pocket Shimeji Battery Overlay. You can turn it off anytime.

A DAILY GIFT YOU CAN ACTUALLY CLOSE
Open the app each day for a free reward tied to a 7-day streak. The dialog has a close button and never locks you into watching anything to claim it.

MORE WAYS TO SHOW YOUR PET OFF
Set your favorite as a live wallpaper, keep tabs on it from a home-screen widget, and fine-tune how it behaves — speed, size, how often it changes activity, even how high off the ground it walks.

HOW SCREEN OVERLAY WORKS
Try your pet inside the app first — no permission needed. When you’re ready to let it roam on your home screen and inside other apps, we guide you through “display over other apps.” Until then, your pet stays in the app. The floating pet uses that overlay permission; the optional emoji battery status-bar decoration is separate and only uses AccessibilityService with your explicit consent.
