Scribatic records a conversation and turns it into a transcript on your phone, marking who said what. The app can't upload anything: it has no internet permission. Your recordings and notes leave the phone only if you share them or back them up.
What you can do
• Record a meeting, lecture, interview or call, and watch the words appear as people speak
• Transcribe English. Other languages are experimental: Scribatic can recognise and transcribe many more, but results may be poor, so check them before relying on them
• Pause and resume, then stop to save the note
• See each speaker's words marked in their own colour, identified when you stop, or only when you ask
• Give speakers names, only on this device and only for that note
• Play a recording back, or just the part you're reading
• Correct a misheard name, number or word in any part of the transcript, and undo it or restore the original
• Fix speakers: move a part to someone else, or tell Scribatic two labels are the same person
• Import a recording you already have, such as a voice memo or a call, and transcribe it the same way
• Share a transcript, a PDF or the recording to any app you choose; a transcript can leave out the speakers' names
• Back up your notes to a place you choose, encrypted with your own passphrase, and restore them on another device
• See how much recording time your storage has left, with a warning before it runs low
• Keep recordings compressed (about 21 MB an hour), for 30 days, or only until transcribed; transcripts are always kept
• Delete the audio and keep the words, or delete a note entirely
• Find notes grouped by day, with light and dark themes
Scribatic Pro, a one-time in-app purchase
• Summaries shaped for a meeting, a lesson or anything else: the key points, and who owes what
• Search all your notes, by words and by meaning
• Ask your notes: short answers from your own recordings, each pointing to where it was said
• All written on the phone by a 2.5 GB model, downloaded once after you buy
• Needs a phone with 8 GB of memory or more, and Android 9 or later. Designed for English; other languages are experimental
Private by design
• Transcription, speaker identification and Pro's summaries and answers run on the phone's own processor
• The app has no INTERNET permission, so recordings, transcripts and names cannot leave the phone through it
• No account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting
• What you share goes only to the app you pick, and that app sends it. A shared transcript or PDF includes the note's summary, unless you share without names
• A backup holds your notes, their summaries and recordings, and goes only where you save it: a folder on the phone, or a cloud drive such as Google Drive. It is encrypted so that only your passphrase opens it. Scribatic can't read it or recover a forgotten passphrase
Good to know
• The speech models download once through Google Play when you first open the app, about 470 MB
• Accuracy depends on the recording: clear speech close to the phone works best
• Needs a 64-bit (ARM64) Android phone running Android 9 or later
