About this app

ScriptReady is a rehearsal room in your pocket, built for actors, singers and students, supporting theater and TV/film scripts and scenes. Upload your sides (or create your own script), pick your character, and run the scene out loud with active speech recognition, or listen passively on auto-repeat, with a pre-recorded friend's voice (Script Share), your own voice, or an AI scene partner that voices every other role. Most importantly, ScriptReady lets you start a live video call with a friend or colleague to help you film your self-tape or rehearse, while they control your teleprompter in real time.

Note: Whenever you need someone to help you record or rehearse, their help is always free. They only need to download the app and create a free Collaborator account.

Rehearse out loud
• Import a PDF, a photo of your pages, or paste the text. ScriptReady sorts characters, dialogue and stage directions, handles watermarked audition sides, and lets you fix any line in two taps.
• Pick your character and rehearse with a friend's voice (Script Share), a recording of your own voice, or an AI partner that reads every other part. It listens for the end of your line and moves on, so you never have to tap.
• Smart Timings learn how long you take on each line and play the scene back at your pace, without using voice recognition.
• More ways to drill a scene until it sticks: repetition, passive listening, first-letter memorisation and countdown modes.

Voices
• A curated library of AI partner voices in different accents and energies.
• Record your own voice for a part, or let a friend record theirs and sync it to your script through Script Share.

Live Reader
• Invite a real reader into a private video call. They see the same script, synced line by line, and can pace your teleprompter from their own phone while you act.
• One-to-one or a small group. Rooms are invite-only by a code you share. There is no directory and no matchmaking.

Self-tape
• Record takes with your lines on screen: camera only, teleprompter, or the full rehearsal with your partner's lines playing.
• Takes save to your library, ready to review and send.

Teleprompter
• A full-screen prompter with adjustable speed. Swipe the edges to speed up or slow down while it plays, or drag the script in the centre. Pinch to enlarge or shrink the text. The current line stays highlighted.
• On Android, the prompter can also float over other apps, so your lines stay up while you use another camera or video-call app.

Script Share
• Send one or more characters to a friend. They record their lines on their own phone, and their real voice becomes your scene partner.

Music too
• Attach a backing track or piano accompaniment and rehearse songs and scenes in sequence. Add a countdown and your music starts once the recording begins, so you never have to rush into your scene.

Print to PDF
• Import or create your script, edit it to look the way you like, then print it to PDF - in Screenplay Format.
• No more unnecessary watermarks or distracting markings.
• Auto-Highlight marks your character's lines for you, you never have to highlight them by hand.

Account sync
• Your scripts and recordings follow your account across devices, Android and iPhone alike. Sign in with Google, Apple or email.
