About this app

Stop doomscrolling without deleting your apps. ScrollSafe blocks the endless short-video feeds (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels, Snapchat Spotlight and TikTok) and leaves everything else in those apps working: messages, profiles, search, stories, posting and normal videos.

One more reel turns into forty. ScrollSafe closes the feed the moment it opens and shows a calm reminder instead, so you get your evenings, your focus and your sleep back.

WATCH ONE, NOT FIFTY
A friend sent you a reel? Open it and watch it. Swiping to the next one is blocked, so one video stays one video.

BREAKS WITH A PAUSE
Need a few minutes of feed? Wait out a short countdown, then unlock for 5 minutes. With Pro you can follow a few slow breaths or type why you want it instead. Each extra unlock in a day takes longer. Often the pause is enough to change your mind.

DAILY LIMITS AND SCHEDULES (Pro)
• Daily or hourly allowances, for example 10 minutes of Shorts a day, then it's blocked
• Schedules for bedtime, deep work or mornings, with no unlocks while they run
• Block whole apps at bedtime and only the feeds during the day

STRICT MODE (Pro)
For the moments when future-you will try to switch blocking off. Strict mode removes unlocks and breaks and adds a cooling-off period before you can turn it off.

HOW DO I BLOCK REELS AND SHORTS ON ANDROID?
1. Install ScrollSafe and pick the apps you want to calm down.
2. Turn on the ScrollSafe accessibility service when asked.
3. Open Instagram or YouTube as usual. Reels and Shorts close by themselves, and everything else keeps working.

Works as a Reels blocker, a Shorts blocker and a short-video blocker, without blocking the app itself. It's a simple way to cut screen time, break a doomscrolling habit and stay focused, for study, work or better sleep.

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE DISCLOSURE
ScrollSafe uses Android's Accessibility Service API to detect when a short-video feed (such as Reels or Shorts) is open in the apps you choose, and to leave that screen by pressing Back or opening the app's Home tab. It only reads the names of on-screen elements in those apps. It never reads your messages, passwords or keystrokes, and it doesn't collect or share any personal data. You can turn the service off at any time in Settings › Accessibility.
