UPDATE 2-3-26 - New phone and looks like a fresh app update. Did it make any difference? Nope, heater still shows offline. I can't get it to connect or add as a new device. Sad trombones. 😱 UPDATE 2-23-23 - Good news. Looks like all of my issues have been corrected by dropping the device connection and not allowing it to reconnect, so it just shows offline and doesn't give me any hope that it will work.

I'm sorry you are having problems. I can see you successfully re-registered your what heater last night. This latest release did change the name of the app, but no changes were made to how water heaters are handled. OK to start I couldn't get my wifi and ac to talk to each other. Not the apps fault at all. I contacted kenmore for help. We exchanged a total 6 emails each. Unfortunately with no success. I sent them a little more info, such as a screen shot of each page on the app. They replied back in a hour and told me my wifi module was bad. They sent one free of charge that day, I received it the following day. Installation of the module took less than 5 min. So minus one star because I'd like more options.

Like others, I had trouble getting the app to connect with my Kenmore Smart air conditioner. Today, after running the air conditioner for a couple of hours, I was able to get the app to work. Maybe something in the appliance needs to "boot up"? My prior attempts were right after the air conditioner was installed and it hadn't run for very long. Just tossing it out there in case somebody else wants to give it a shot.

Does the app show a red banner that says WiFi is not configured? If that's the case you can only control the AC when you are in close proximity to the AC, and it may take a few seconds after opening the app before you can control it. To enable faster control, and access to it from anywhere, make sure WiFi is configured.
